The project aims to provide a home for ‘Industry-academia cooperated research institute’, a creative research platform to boost startups in connection with KNU’s research and mentoring labs. Simple geometry of rectangular tower provides flexible and efficient office spaces for variously sized startups, whereas lower levels podium levels carved to create multi-directional connection to its surroundings with visual openess and multiple access at various levels inculding existing students council building.
Red-tone terracotta cladding was proposed to match existing building facade materials (mainly brick) and integrate the lower part of the new building into existing campus landscape.
